Benefits Highlights
Responsible for the management and development of staff. Provides oversight to, and is accountable for quality and service, Description regulatory compliance, work unit safety, strategic planning, document management, financial management and developing and implementing new services. Works cooperatively with a wide variety of customers, as well as internal and external resources. Completes special projects as assigned by the laboratory consultant/director(s), administrator and/or operations manager(s).
Qualifications Clinical Laboratory and Histology:
Bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology with at least one year of training and/or experience in high complexity testing. The general supervisor’s training and experience must be in the designated discipline or area of service for which the individual is responsible. Four years of laboratory experience required.
Human Cell Therapy and Laboratory Services:
Bachelor's degree or a master's degree, preferably in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, medical technology, healthcare management/business or a health-related field AND a minimum of four years of laboratory experience to the applicable lab area.
HLA Laboratory:
Have earned a doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; and have at least three years of laboratory training or experience in human immunogenetics, human histocompatibility and/or human transplantation immunology testing under the supervision of a director and/or technical supervisor of an ASHI-accredited or an equivalent ARB approved laboratory. Four years of laboratory experience after obtaining the qualified degree.
Molecular Pathology:
Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, medical/clinical laboratory science with at least 4 years of experience (including 2 years in high complexity testing, 1 of which is in molecular pathology methods).
Additional Requirements:
Must have demonstrated leadership, communication (oral and written) and problem-solving ability. Must be highly organized, efficient, and able to work independently. Requires human relations skills to influence and motivate others. ASCP certification or other certification pertinent to the laboratory field may be required depending on the laboratory specialty.
License or Certifications: .
Clinical Laboratory – MLS/MT (ASCP) or equivalent required.
Histology – HT or HTL (ASCP) or equivalent required.
HLA – Certified Histocompatibility Technologist: CHT(ACHI) required.
