  Location: Plymouth, MI (Metro Detroit Area)

Job Type: Full-Time, Grades Elementary-High School

Schedule: Monday–Friday (37.5 hours per week)

Hourly Pay: $43–$45 (based on experience)

Contract: School-year position with potential for renewal

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Social Worker to support high school students in grades 9–12 in Plymouth, MI. The ideal candidate will provide direct counseling, collaborate with families and staff, and help build a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that promotes both emotional and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for students needing social, emotional, or behavioral support
• Conduct assessments and develop evidence-based intervention plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs
• Serve as a liaison between school teams, families, and community resources
• Participate in crisis intervention, safety planning, and restorative practices
• Support IEP and 504 processes as required
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Social Worker license (LMSW or LLMSW) and meet Michigan requirements for School Social Worker approval
• Master’s degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field
• Experience in a school or youth-serving setting preferred
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with high school students and diverse family populations
