Job Description

Round Hill Search seeks an experienced and highly skilled Resources and Environmental Litigation Attorney . As a Resources and Environmental Litigation Attorney, you will be critical in providing legal counsel and representation in natural resources and environmental law matters. Your responsibilities will include handling litigation involving environmental disputes, regulatory compliance, and conservation of natural resources. The ideal candidate will have experience in trial practice, water law, environmental law, public agency law, or tribal law.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage a caseload of litigation matters related to environmental and natural resources law.
• Conduct in-depth legal research on environmental statutes, regulations, and case law to inform case strategy.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Advise clients on environmental regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Interact with clients to understand their legal needs, provide updates on case developments, and address inquiries.
• Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and advising on potential legal implications.
• Engage in negotiation processes to resolve environmental disputes and achieve favorable client outcomes.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and other legal proceedings, presenting arguments and examining witnesses.
• Work closely with experts, consultants, and internal teams to build strong legal cases.
• Evaluate and assess legal risks associated with environmental matters, providing strategic advice to mitigate potential issues.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in California.
• Seven (7) – ten (10) years of experience as a litigation attorney.
• Demonstrated ability to handle environmental litigation cases, from pre-litigation through trial.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective representation and client communication.
• Ability to build and maintain positive client relationships.
• Collaborative mindset with effective teamwork skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving environmental laws and case dynamics.

Salary:

$150,000 - $195,000, DOE
